The new Get The Blessing album “Pallett” is officially out today, accompanied by this video I made for track 6 - “Ambient black” :
One of my favourite tracks on the album, naturally - by now you probably know that I am drawn to long, hypnotic, improvisational pieces of music. I’d be happy if it went on for an hour instead of 9 minutes and 40 seconds, but hey - we get what we’re given.

The idea for the video, simple though it is, had been lurking with intent for months and months - yet for some reason I left it unticked on the “to do” list. Waiting for some perfect weather or light or clear schedule to materialise.
Wednesday night, two days before the album release, I realised it was a “now or never” situation and I’m so glad I hadn’t attempted it earlier - a much needed reminder that sometimes the time doesn’t feel right because it’s not. Nothing to do with laziness or incompetence or any of the other things that a culture of toxic productivity wants us to believe.
Wednesday night was the perfect time to capture the feeling of something bright and alive growing out of the darkness…
