Litronix.
I really like Litronix both musicwise and personwise and this is a relief. I met him at the end of last year when he arrived in Bristol in November without a coat, ready to embark on a European tour supporting BEAK>. I guess it was warm when he left LA? Anyway, he turned up at the Invada office and won everybody’s heart. We actually miss him. He’s part of the family.
I’ve been really excited about his debut album and today it’s finally OUT.
I’m a big Talking Heads fan and I’d say that if you are too you’ll probably like this, not that it sounds like Talking Heads but you know what I mean it has something about it that connects in a similar way.
‘One A Day Keeps The Doctor Away’… you can hear it in full here :
But this video is very enjoyable if you just want to dip your toe in :
Neddal Ayad is a Palestinian Canadian musician who not only made a “nightmare mix” (his words not mine) of one of my Silver Stairs of Ketchikan songs (‘EDEIDA’) but included it in this radio show, which aired earlier in the week :
You can hear some of Neddal’s music here :
Now, sadly I wasn’t present for this Evan Parker / Bill Nace performance at Cafe Oto (last year?) but Nace being one of my favourite guitar-touchers of all time means I’m excited for this release…
My dear friend Laura Kidd aka Penfriend released her new album House Of Stories last week. I picked up a copy of the LP on pre-order and it sounds amazing.
Here’s the title track :
Finally…
If you’re a musician, maybe you’re thinking of making a music video, look no further than Sam Wisternoff. He is an incredible maker of videos / animation / music but don’t take my word for it, here’s a slick promotional message straight from the horse’s mouth :
He’s also a very nice bloke.
PS
Sam is the man behind these music videos for my band, Thought Forms :
Thanks for reading / listening!
